<%@ Master Language="C#" %> About me
I first started playing guitar 40 years ago, after messing about on my brothers Hofner Committee Blonde. My brother who was in the RAF taught me a few chords to Apache by the Shadows. He knew a fellow airman who had a Fender Stratocaster for sale, the guy was going overseas, so he bought it for me for the princely sum of £15.
I think he thought I wouldn’t keep the learning up and so he would have a cheap electric guitar for his use.
Needless to say I proved him wrong and have played off and on since then, mainly self taught and mainly chords so that I could accompany my bad singing. I formed a group at school and have played rhythm guitar in one or two in the early 70's as well as performing solo in restaurants an Bistros in various towns I lived in..
My influences have been varied over the years but mainly Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Eric Clapton, Queen, Uriah Heap Santana, The Shadows, Beatles, Pink Floyd, Iron Butterfly,
I also like Jazz and Blues. One of my big influences other than the Shadows is Peter Green who was in the early line up of Fleetwood Mac.
Recently I  have been writing some of my own music some of which is featured on My Music page.
I do sing on some although I do not consider myself a good singer.
